Dancers
Daniel Blackwood is a 21 year old dancer and acrobat from Fort Mill, SC. He has been training since the age of 10 under the direction of Maegan Kittrell and Rebecca Lee at Center Stage Dance Academy in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, contemporary, hip hop, and acrobatics. Daniel has competed in the Dance Master of America organization for 5 years and holds the titles of Jr. Mr. Dance of South Carolina, Teen Mr. Dance of South Carolina, and Mr. Dance of South Carolina. He started his professional career at age 19 in Hershey, PA as a dancer and acrobat at Hershey Park. When back home in Fort Mill, he loves teaching upcoming dancers and will share that passion until the end of time. He also has assisted professional dancer, Gev Manoukian in choreographing a hip hop dance and has taken many classes from various professional dancers, such as Fik-Shun, Phil Wright, Christopher Robins, and other teachers from The Charlotte Ballet. Daniel is grateful to have this opportunity and can’t wait to share his passion for dance for everyone tonight on the Alabama Theatre stage.
